Wrap Up
What a marvelous route we explored yesterday! The morning started off quite rainy but after not too long we discovered our first (and best) cave. We squeezed through the narrow entrance and were greeted by a big cave which had multiple ways to other parts. At some point we had to stop because it went too deep and would've been unsafe without ropes and other safety gear.
The hike continued in the lush and green forest, the mist surrounding the canopy gave it an extra dimension we don't see too often on our hikes. We explored a few more caves, had beautiful views and encountered numerous snails and one hurt little bird :(
We even discovered a geocache without looking for it and left multiple origami birds a Mountain Club badge for the next person to find. After 17,5km we arrived back to Neuhaus where we didn't have to wait long for our train which brought us back to Bayreuth.
