Bayreuth Mountain Club uses data and software from various open-data and open-source sources. This page contains the required attributions and licenses.

Terrain data / DGM5

Elevation and terrain data on event and route pages (elevation profiles, gain and loss, hillshade) are derived from the Digital Terrain Model Bavaria (DGM5, 5-metre raster):

Modifications: Bayreuth Mountain Club processes the DGM5 data as follows: GPX track points are interpolated against the 5-metre elevation grid to compute corrected elevation profiles, total ascent and descent, and minimum and maximum elevation. Results are rendered as charts and statistics on event and route pages. The original dataset is available from the Landesamt für Digitalisierung, Breitband und Vermessung.

Weather data / Open-Meteo
