Terms and Conditions

Bayreuth Mountain Club is a non-commercial community. All events listed on this website are organised on a voluntary basis, free of charge, and participation is entirely optional.

Participation at your own risk

By taking part in any event, you acknowledge that outdoor activities — including hiking, biking, climbing, running, skiing, canoeing, and orienteering — carry inherent risks. These include but are not limited to falls, injuries, adverse weather, wildlife encounters, and exhaustion. You participate at your own risk and are solely responsible for your own safety, fitness, equipment, and insurance.

Responsibility of the organiser

Event leaders and the club do their best to plan safe, reasonable routes and to share relevant information in advance. However, the club, its volunteers, and event leaders are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, or inconvenience arising from participation, except in cases of intent or gross negligence as required by German law (§ 276 BGB, § 309 Nr. 7 BGB).

Your responsibilities

  • Assess whether the planned activity matches your fitness and skill level before joining.
  • Bring appropriate equipment, clothing, food, and water for the conditions.
  • Hold valid health and accident insurance that covers outdoor sports.
  • Follow instructions from the event leader during the activity.
  • Speak up immediately if you feel unsafe or want to turn back.

Minors

Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or provide written consent from one.
