While looking for a new route I stumbled across winter. All these months there was little to no snow in Bayreuth, but when I went up to Bischofsgrün to explore a new route, there it was. Ankle deep snow, everywhere.
Needless to say I enjoyed the exploration very much (if it's not clear yet, I like winter, snow especially). The 21km hike was a bit more strenuous than anticipated because of the difficulties walking trough the high snow but is was a joy nevertheless. But it is not just a winter route, it has many beautiful sightseeing points that are just as pretty in summer as well.
I am looking forward to take you on this route that visits the two highest peaks in the area, Schneeberg (±1050m) and Ochsenkopf (±1024m).
