Wrap Up

On Easter Sunday at 9am, eleven motivated hikers were ready to start hunting for one of six fiercely wanted egg caches, hidden around Bayreuth. The first clue hunters got after the countdown ran to zero was [w3w loc="singer.readily.swimmer"]
This first clue seemed already cause for much confusion (I've learned my lesson for next time). But after some help from Bunny Whiskers all teams managed to find the hidden BMC logo with QR code and request their individual quests from Bunny Whiskers. The hunt was afoot.
Over the course of the day ten motivated hunters discovered the 13 different locations of the game, collecting passwords, solving riddles and deciphering a total of 18 unique codes to be able to collect their egg cache.
It was great fun for us to see the game unfold over the day and the progress bars for each egg slowly fill up as teams made their way from clue to clue. We'd call it a successful first edition of this new type of game where participants solve riddles and ciphers and get send to different points in the city for new clues. We learned a lot, some mistakes were made and some extra kilometers were walked, but those are all things that will be improved in upcoming editions.
The winners of The Great Egg Hunt of '24 are (in no particular order) the following:
@yanick, @mirna, @sdlt, @barsheek-roy, @pansyohmyoh and as a team @lena & @yilu
Congratulations and enjoy your bunny goody bag!
And of course this would not be a Bayreuth Mountain Club event if we didn't also have extensive media coverage of the event. Below are the photos of the participants searching for the location of the first clue. And as an extra, we also had one hunter (Mirna) wear a GoPro and narrate her egg hunt. Below you'll find the teaser for her hunt, stay tuned for the full video coming soon!
Thanks to all hunters for this fun sunny Easter Sunday!
